Auditioning for CIM

Audition days at CIM, whether they are held virtually or in person, are a window into what it's like to be a student at the Institute and in University Circle, Northeast Ohio's cultural hub and home to world-renowned museums, the prestigious Severance Hall, eclectic restaurants, stunning parks, and more.

Dates for Fall 2025 Entrance 

  • September 1, 2024  |  Application opens 
  • December 1, 2024  |  Application & prescreening video deadline  
  • February 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2025  |  In-person auditions
  • Late March 2025  |  Admittance decisions & scholarship awards announced 
  • April 15, 2025 |  Graduate decision deadline 
  • May 1, 2025  |  Undergraduate decision deadline

All applicants in the following programs require an in-person audition in Cleveland:  

February 9 and 10, 2025 |  DMA Auditions, interviews and testing  

February 16 and 17, 2025  |  Artist Diploma Auditions  

All applicants in the following areas of study require an in-person audition in Cleveland: 

  • Collaborative Piano
  • Composition
  • Orchestral Conducting 
  • Timpani and Percussion
