Guest Artists at CIM
Guest artists from around the globe visit CIM each year, from musicians and composers to instructors and conductors. These renowned artists host master classes, seminars and private lessons and impart valuable advice on everything from color and blending to finding the fun in Mozart. The 2016-17 season brings artists and ensembles such as the Juilliard String Quartet, cellist Caroline Stinson, violist Phillip Ying and cellist David Ying of the Ying Quartet, pianist Jon Kimura Parker and conductor and CIM’s Distinguished Principal Guest artist, Jahja Ling. Master classes are free and open to the public and provide a rare opportunity to observe professional coaching from renowned guest artists and faculty. Students work with the masters to uncover techniques and perspectives that influence successful performances. Master classes are added to the schedule as the year progresses.
