CIM celebrates winners of spring 2025 Concerto Competition

Congratulations are in order for pianist Jakob Aumiller and violinist Hiroka Matsumoto, winners of CIM’s spring Concerto Competition.
Aumiller, a student of Antonio Pompa-Baldi, won with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, while Matsumoto, a student of Ilya Kaler, performed the Korngold Violin Concerto.
Both with have the opportunity to perform the works again next academic year, as soloists with the CIM Orchestra.
“The CIM concerto competition is always inspiring, and the spring edition was no exception,” said Scott Harrison, Executive Vice President & Provost of CIM. “There was another outpouring of talent for our panel to consider, so we are particularly excited to hear winners Jakub and Hiroka perform with the CIM Orchestra next year."
In addition to the winners, CIM expresses its gratitude to all students who took part in the spring 2025 competition and to the four artists who served as judges: Dr. Francesca Brittan, Darko Butorac, Eliesha Nelson, and Amitai Vardi.
Bravi, tutti!
